Judy provides live online courses to educate and support people in health, mental health, and healing professions using ideas derived from hypnotic principles.
She also teaches a complete training program in Clinical Hypnosis, for licensed health and mental health professionals and graduate students in these fields. The training program includes the Introductory Course, the Intermediate Course, Individual and Group Consultation, and Advanced Workshops on topics in Clinical Hypnosis.

National Institute of the Psychotherapies Mini-Course:
Stabilization and Ego-strengthening Using Hypnotic Principles (Live Online Course)
With Judith Kurzer, LCSW
Utilizing principles and tools derived primarily from clinical hypnosis, the course will focus on techniques for increasing stabilization and resilience, affect regulation, and ego strengthening. Participants will be introduced to the basic phenomena and principles of clinical hypnosis, the process of induction, and inducing relaxation. We will discuss how language, suggestion and the use of the imagination can be applied to influence sensation, imagery, behavior, affect, and cognition. Brief practical techniques for grounding will also be discussed and demonstrated. These introductory methods, derived from hypnotic principles, may be integrated with various theoretical frameworks, including psychodynamic practice, as well as techniques such as EMDR and Somatic Experiencing.

Learning Objectives
I. Participants will learn 3 specific tools for inducing centering and grounding.
II. Participants will be able to describe the importance of suggestion and self-talk.
III. Participants will be able to describe two protocols for ego-strengthening.

Refunds, & Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests made more than a week prior to the event will be given a full refund of registration fees. Refunds will not be granted for cancellation requests made within a week of the first day of the event or for no-shows on any of the days event take place.

Clinical Hypnosis Training Program
These courses are available to licensed health and mental health professionals and graduate students in these fields.
Introductory Course in Hypnosis (3 full days)
In this course, we focus on the theory of hypnosis and hypnotic phenomena. Students will learn and practice basic hypnotic techniques and will develop an understanding of basic hypnotic styles, including the use of Permissive and Ericksonian approaches. In this course, we will discuss Hypnotic Language and Suggestion, Trance Inductions and Deepenings, Ego-Strengthening, and Self-Hypnosis. We will have lecture, demonstrations, practice, and discussion. (ASCH – 20 hours) (21 NYS CE Hours)
Intermediate Course in Hypnosis (3 full days)
We will focus on learning advanced hypnotic theory and techniques and clinical applications of hypnosis. Topics will include exploratory techniques, the theory and use of various types of suggestion, and ego state work. Treatment applications will include work with anxiety and panic disorders, depression and habit control. We will have lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice. (ASCH – 20 hrs) (21 NYS CE Hours).
Approved Consultation
I offer the required ASCH Approved Consultation in hypnosis in both individual and group format. In both formats, students will have the opportunity to focus on the integration of hypnosis into their clinical practice.
