Hello, I am Judith Kurzer, LCSW and thank you for visiting my website.

I am a highly experienced, licensed psychotherapist and certified hypnotherapist providing counseling services in New York City. I have had the opportunity to play a significant role in helping clients resolve issues in their lives, overcome obstacles, and heal. By using mind body techniques such as clinical hypnosis, somatic experiencing, brainspotting, and EMDR, I am able to provide individualized psychotherapy treatment.

In my practice I specialize in a broad range of psychological disorders including anxiety, panic, phobias, and depression. Many of my clients have struggled with family or relationship issues, employment difficulties, medical issues, or a history of neglect, abuse, and trauma.

Every person is an individual, and it is of utmost importance for me to understand the unique concerns, experiences, style, and goals of each client. Our first meeting is a consultation in which I gain an understanding of the issues that are of concern. From that information we develop a psychotherapy treatment program which allows the client to make the necessary changes to overcome obstacles, and allows for the growth needed to enjoy living a fulfilling life. In the therapeutic relationship, the client’s experience of compassion is a key element for healing.

Trained analytically, I remain current with contemporary research and techniques in the mental health field, and I am always learning in order to provide the most effective approaches available in my counseling service. I am particularly interested in methods which incorporate an understanding of mind body dynamics.

I am extensively trained in such mind body techniques as clinical hypnosis, somatic experiencing, brainspotting, and EMDR. In working with each client, I am able to rely on this substantial repertoire in order to develop appropriate treatment for each person.
